headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting the wellbeing of young people. headspace Coffs Harbour has two part time (0.6 FTE) vacancies for Clinical Psychology Registrars available for an immediate start. View the full Position Description for this role on our website: Join Our Team - Health Voyage

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria 

  1. Qualifications: Hold graduate-level qualifications in Clinical Psychology (Master of Clinical Psychology complete or nearing completion) and possess current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) (Provisional if nearing completion of Masters).
  2. Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate career-stage appropriate experience in providing psychological assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions across all developmental stages for young people with mental health issues (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, family therapy).
  3. Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation, client interactions, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Passion for Youth Mental Health: Display a commitment to working with young people and their families, ensuring client-centred care, and promoting active youth participation in all facets of service provision.
  5. Cultural Safety: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) young people.
  6. Ethical and Legal Compliance: Possess a comprehensive understanding of and adherence to all ethical guidelines and legal requirements governing the practice of psychology in Australia.
  7. Professional Development: Show a dedication to engaging in Clinical Supervision and ongoing Continuing Professional Development.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Early Intervention Focus: Have experience in providing services within an early intervention/prevention framework for young people with emerging or recent onset mental diagnoses.
  2. Family-Inclusive Practice: Possess knowledge and experience in family-inclusive practice approaches.
  3. Non-Profit/Non-Government Sector Experience: Prior experience working in the not-for-profit/non-government sector.
